Welcome to Discovery! This section of our website is devoted to staff and applicants.
Discovery Day Camp’s staff is made up of administrators, specialists, group leaders, swim staff, assistant group leaders,
and various other support staff who want to build a strong community. Requirements for each type of staff member vary,
but for the most part the people who work at Discovery are motivated college students and educational professionals.
Our staff is made up of bright, creative, nurturing individuals with an interest in working with children.
We look for caring, concerned individuals who want to help our campers succeed.
The goals may vary from child to child, but our staff's commitment to help children never varies.
Many of our staff members are former campers and usually staff members return for more than one summer.
High School aged staff members work on the aquatics’ staff or are assistant group leaders.
Our program's diversity is enchanced by the variety of universities our staff attends.
Some of the universities that staff attend or attended include:
Arizona State University
Beloit College

What former staff has to say about working at Discovery:
“Thanks for a wonderful summer! I always looked forward to coming to work & I'm sad it's ending. Thanks for hiring & supporting me.” D.L.
“This summer was one of of the most rewarding summer I have had in a while as we were able to help campers who didn't know how to ride a bike, ride a bike.” S.O.
"Working at Discovery was a very different experience for me because I had only attended larger day camps (none of which I particularly enjoyed). I've found, though, that the small, intimate environment of a camp like Discovery is so much fun to be a part of. You'll get to know almost every camper, even the ones who aren't in your group or swim lesson.", L.P.
