I think Discovery is what has given both of my kids the confidence and independence to feel safe in a camp environment and enjoy and try new experiences in order to move on to an away camp experience.

I want to thank you for letting me come and watch Emma this past Friday. Discovery seems to be everything we were hoping for in a camp. The counselors are great, the activities were well thought out and the kids seemed to be engaged and having a ball. SF
2010 Camp Families
Wow. That is all I can say. Jacob has never had a more successful period of time in his life than he has had for the past 8 weeks. Can I really say more?
He talked about camp at home, made some friends, passed several swim levels and was sad today when camp was over. I cannot explain how I feel right now, but it is pretty amazing. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
You still run a top notch operation.

I am remembering some of the great times that Colin, Cassidy, and Zack have had over the last 11 years and wanted to send you a very sincere thank you for running the type of camp that you do.
The atmosphere, that you have created, one of fun, and respect for the kids, with some learning snuck in, has made it a highlight in their lives.

Noa had a wonderful time at camp! She says it is the best day camp she has ever been to. I too was impressed with the camp and Noa's experience. The facilities are lovely and the programming seems so much richer and more diverse than at other day camps.
I would not hesitate to recommend Discovery Day Camp to friends as well.
I can easily say that I have never been so pleased with a camp experience for one of my kids.

I just wanted to thank you again for everything you did for Simon this summer. He got off the bus, sat down on my lap and cried (last day). He had such a great summer at Discovery. I could not have asked for more. Please send a big thank you to the pool staff. We cannot believe what a fish he has become. Danny and Pete were great kindergarten leaders. Leah was a great driver as well.
When I worked at camp I never understood how important those 8 weeks are. As a parent, you realize how precious camp is. I have had so much fun singing camp songs with him. It makes me remember why I loved camp so much for all of those years.

On busing…
[My child] loved his Jaguar bus. It was one of his memorable parts of each day.
Our child loved the bus. He got on it happily every day!
I liked the way the bus driver and assistant took time and got the kids settled instead of rushing away.
On Carpool…
The staff was awesome during the drop off and pick up!
On Extended Day…
The extended day staff was wonderful - each member who interacted with our daughter made the additional time spent at camp a fun one!
On Staff…
Several people were very helpful to our daughter, when she was having a little trouble adjusting to her first year at camp. We were really impressed with how proactive both her counselor and the Schwartzwalds were in addressing the problem and doing everything in their power to make camp a positive experience for her.
The staff go above and beyond - their relationships with the campers make the Discovery experience special for my daughter.
We could not be more pleased with Nikki, our camp leader. She displayed professionalism, enthusiasm and really made each girl feel important and part of the team.
Sam and Ricky were both fabulous counselors. I could always tell by their comments about the boys that they knew and understood both of them well. I was also thrilled on Family Day that all of the staff members seemed to not only know the boys by name, but to relate to them in a way that made me feel like they had connected with each boy over the summer.
On specialist activities...
We thought all activities were conducted in a safe and fun matter so that each camper could have tons of fun, without us parents worrying about their safety! We loved the end of camp cookbook (great job Amy)! The team work that was learned during the ropes, drama and dance sections were wonderful and tennis was a favorite sport (outside of swimming)!! Great job specialists!!!
…biking was outstanding. Our son became a very strong/independent rider!

The new climbing wall is terrific!
Our daughter really enjoyed the archery.
My daughter especially loved cooking.
On swimming…
I always rave about the swim lessons - for my children they love swimming and are better swimmers every summer!
We had high hopes for swimming, and they were met and exceeded. Our son became a confident swimmer and diver!!!
Could not be more impressed with the boys' progress this summer! Kudos to a terrific pool staff.
On arts & crafts…
[My child] was proud of each item he brought home. The quality of the projects you had kids do were excellent. You really put money into the craft program, and it was noted.
We loved the crafts made throughout camp - the exposure to ceramics and soap making was so much fun for her! Thank you!!!
On Communication…
Your communication goes above and beyond the call of duty. It is something you should take pride in and brag about on a regular basis. Wow. That is all I can say.
Communication is EXCELLENT at Discovery. We appreciate the effort that you make to keep us in the loop. The small environment and personal attention to each camper are really fantastic.
Communications far exceeded all my expectations. I knew exactly what was going on and when. My problem was getting organized for all those fantastic events. Great job.
We could tell this camp had been operating for 25 years - great communication from all levels of management and staff.

Karen is always excellent in assisting at camp, but most especially so since my first time camper had special needs when it came to her food allergies.
